Day 1:
On the first day of this enrichment, I researched different programs that I can choose to work with. After using "Youtube", "Atomic Learning", and Google, I decided to improve my skills on "Photoshop CS3".
During the first "work day", I started by searching for resources I can use for this enrichment. The main two sites I plan to use are "deviantart.com" and "planetrenders.net". The tutorials on AtomicLearning, I believe, are too basic for my needs (I already have profficiency with CS3). I first worked on a "abstract grundge" piece, following a tutorial I found on PR and using my prior knowledge. I think learned how to create a light beam from Deviantart, which I may use on my final project.
Day 2:
Plan: Keep building on photoshop skills. More specifically: Abstract pieces, and with stock photos.
I first started by working with stock photos, and searching for resources to get these. I then made a computer wallpaper using a "C4D render" (abstract). I downloaded some free photoshop brushes, and used these to create the wallpaper. The end result is generally called a "Abstract C4D vector wallpaper".I plan to work with abstract C4D renders more, because they are fairly available (compared to stock photos).
One of my final results using the C4D renders and the vector brushes was http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h274/NOTadamj/vector_backgroundcopy.jpg
Day 3:
Plan: Work on Vector pieces, and make another abstract wallpaper.
I started by creating an abstract wall paper, and used skills from Day 1 (abstract grundge) to make the background. I then created a vector piece, using a stock photo of a sky.
Final Work Day:
My final project is a desktop wallpaper, where I will show how I made the wallpaper. I will also include some of my other wallpapers.
Review of Enrichment:
Why did you select this Program? Did it relate to your course work or personal interests? Be specific.
I selected this program because I could decide what exactly I wanted to learn. I had an interest in digital photo editing, with Photoshop CS3, so I decided to explore it.
What did you like best about this Enrichment? Be specific.
I liked that I could work from home on Saturday mornings, when I was free. I also liked the freedom of working from home.
What did you like least? Be specific.
I didn’t like having to sit in front of my computer for four hours straight.
Would you recommend that this Enrichment be offered again? Why or why not?
Yes, because it offers students numerous choices on what they want to learn, and gives them freedom to work.
